A Cow Called Treasure

In 2009, Deniliquin North School was lucky enough to be chosen to participate in the Picasso Cows Program.

This program is an initiative of Dairy Australia (click on link above!) and helped students at our school learn about the importance of dairy products in our diet.

The school's entry-'TREASURE'- was chosen as the GRAND CHAMPION COW, selected from 11 participating schools in the Riverina.

Treasure tells a story of a group of students going on a journey to find the mysterious three serves of dairy... this story is written on Treasure's hide, and can be viewed in the school library, where Treasure, the prizewinning cow, now grazes happily.

Treasure's newfound happiness has a lot to do with the love and care lavished upon 'her' by famed rodeo stars and local cowgirls' Zowie (Yippyio) Crump and Cheryl (Yeehaa) McMillan (pictured above).
